Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to investigate. This led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous rules in these instances. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell later worked at NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. As well as co-hosting the Pre Show Arrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. Co-hosted the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
